Question:

My investigation focuses on using many different media and putting them into one piece, or assemblage art in a deconstructive style. I have always tended to stay away from larger finished pieces due to the results never being how I wanted them, the looseness of the sketch being lost in the final product. From different art supplies to different paper types, I wanted to really explore the concept of mixing many different medias together.

In Practice:

Clean and polished work is nice but not for me. My first 2 pieces were planned, made to be more formal. I looked through my sketchbook to find out that I preffered that work more than my finished works. I then began to include things I have in my sketchbook into my SI, which was many medias and a lot of taping. In works 3 through 5 I focused on using a few supplies. On five I taped the bottom part on later as a last minute decision, and decided to rely more on tape. In SI 6 tape was used for background, then at 7 onward I began using tape as a main component, taping things onto a backdrop.
